A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN - An Off the Shelf reading

Thursday, OCTOBER 26, 2023 at 7:30pm

Tacoma Little Theatre's Off the Shelf program is excited to present Eugene O’Neill’s classic, A Moon for the Misbegotten, directed by Aaron Gotzon and featuring a powerhouse of Pacific Northwest actors. This production will play Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 7:30pm.

In 1920s rural Connecticut, Phil Hogan cobbles together a living on rented farmland that he hopes to someday own outright, when his landlord Jim Tyrone comes into his inheritance. Hogan has driven away his three sons, but his towering daughter Josie understands her father and can hold her own. When the two learn that the land may be sold out from under them, they concoct a plan to save it that ultimately reveals the secret desires that two lonely souls have kept hidden for years.

A Moon for the Misbegotten features the talents of: Rachel Permann as Josie Hogan, Aaron Gotzon as Mike Hogan, Russ Holm as Phil Hogan, Frank Andrew Lawler as James Tyrone, Jr., and Alex Tracy as T. Stedman Harder.

Tickets for the October 26, 2023 performance at 7:30pm are $10.00 for non TLT Members, and FREE for those who are members. Tickets may be purchased online by clicking the button below, or by calling our Box Office at (253) 272-2281.

TLT's OFF THE SHELF

We know that there is a tremendous amount of wonderful theatre that deserves to be heard but sometimes just doesn’t get an opportunity. With “Off the Shelf”, local directors and actors will be bringing some scripts to life that we hope you will find entertaining, challenging and educational to our stage. We hope that you’ll sit back and enjoy an evening of theatre. You never know, you might see one of these shows on our mainstage in the future.

With sharp witty banter and memorable one-liners, Steel Magnolias returns to TLT.

Truvy’s salon is Chinquapin, Louisiana’s go-to place for a beauty fix with a hearty side of gossip. Along with her overeager assistant Annelle, Truvy pampers her small-town clients with hairdos, manicures, and all kinds of unsolicited advice. Anybody who’s anybody is a regular: There’s the doting M’Lynn and her soon-to-be-married daughter Shelby; the moody Ouiser; and the well-to-do widow Clairee. Through witty banter and wisecracks, this hodgepodge group of women form friendships as strong as steel, which they are forced to lean on when tragedy strikes.

Recommended for Ages 12+

Featuring:
Janice Williams as Truvy
Samantha Jane Lobberegt as Annelle
Laurice Roberts as Clairee
Aliyah Shines as Shelby
Shelleigh-Mairi Ferguson as M’Lynn
