Leah is a life-long Washingtonian, residing in the Puget sound area for over 30 years. She currently resides in Tacoma with her husband Michael and dog Nola, and enjoys visiting with their three adult children. She is an experienced public servant leader, passionate about improving lives for all people by advancing the highest quality, best value care and improved health care access. Leah currently serves as general counsel and chief strategist for Washington’s Health Benefit Exchange- the state’s insurance marketplace for over 250,000 Washington individuals and families that don’t have access to employer sponsored health insurance. She has led many public programs and innovations to improve access, reduce health disparities, and focus public resources on high value health care. Leah has no performance experience or talent, but she is a long time admirer of local theater and its capacity to connect community. She is honored and excited to serve on the Board of TLT and learn from and contribute to its resilience.
