Tacoma Little Theatre's Off the Shelf program presents a brand new musical, Hijinx & Sue, with book and lyrics by Jessi Pitts, and music and lyrics by Daniel J. F. Wolfert. This production will play Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at 7:30pm and is directed by Daniel J. F. Wolfert and Jessi PItts.
Despite being abandoned by their last pilot, Hijinx, an anxious and glitchy but spirited karaoke robot, is optimistic about their new friendship with Sue, a jaded spaceship mechanic who dreams of being a Captain with the Federation.
But when a surprise inspection of the ship becomes her dream job offer, Sue is left with a dilemma–accepting the position means leaving Hijinx behind.
As they embark on an interstellar road trip, encounter a collapsing robot city, and face a deceptively idyllic virtual reality, Hijinx and Sue question their places in each other’s lives, as well as their responsibility to the broken world around them.
Maybe Happy Ending meets Futurama in this perfect next-watch for fans of Starkid Productions.
Hijinx & Sue features the talents of: Nick Bourgalt as Hijinx, Heather Matthews as Sue, Russell Campbell as Facility, Elise Campello as Bobbi, Naomi Blue Driver as Shenanigan, Hannah Votel as Hooligan, and Sophie Sen as Tomfoolery.
Tickets for the April 29, 2026 performance at 7:30pm are $10.00 for non TLT Members, and FREE for Season Ticket/FLEX pass holders. Tickets may be purchased online at www.tacomalittletheatre.com, or by calling our Box Office at (253) 272-2281.
