Tacoma, WA-Tacoma Little Theatre is holding auditions for the West Coast premiere of Michael D. Fox’s The Time Machine, inspired by H.G. Wells’ novel of the same name. This production will be directed by Kathy Pingel.
Auditions will be held on Sunday, September 21st, Monday, September 22nd at People's Community Center (1602 M.L.K. Jr Way, Tacoma), and Tuesday, September 23rd at Eastside Community Center (1721 E 56th St, Tacoma, WA 98404). Audition appointments will be set starting at 6:00pm on Sunday and 7:00pm on Monday and Tuesday. Callbacks will be held on Wednesday, September 24th at People's Community Center. Michael D. Fox’s adaptation of The Time Machine reimagines H.G. Wells’ classic sci-fi adventure, blending historical fiction with time travel. Helene Briggs, a scientist who has discovered a device capable of manipulating time, must protect it from those who seek to control its power. Alongside her granddaughter Skye, she embarks on a thrilling journey across the ages, encountering figures from history while uncovering the consequences of altering time. With adventure, suspense, and thought-provoking themes, this adaptation brings new life to a classic. It explores the dilemmas of altering history and the ripple effects of every decision.
Anyone and Everyone is invited to audition for any production at Tacoma Little Theatre regardless of any physical attribute, gender, race, age, ability, body type, ethnicity, expressions, or experience.
Auditioners are asked to prepare one of the provided monologues. There are five monologues to choose from. If you're reading for a character with more than one accent, please just choose one.
All actors cast receive a travel reimbursement up to $150.00.
Once cast, The Time Machine will begin rehearsals in November. The production will run from January 23rd to February 8th.
