Tacoma Little Theatre's Off the Shelf program is excited to present David Lindsay-Abaire’s crazy comedy, Fuddy Meers, directed by Suzy Willhoft and featuring some of the Pacific Northwest’s finest actors. This production will play Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at 7:30pm.

Claire has a rare form of psychogenic amnesia that erases her memory whenever she goes to sleep. This morning, like all mornings, she wakes up a blank slate. Her chipper husband comes in with a cup of coffee, explains her condition, hands her a book filled with all sorts of essential information, and he disappears into the shower. A limping, lisping, half-blind, half-deaf man in a ski mask, pops out from under her bed and claims to be her brother, there to save her. Claire's info book is quickly discarded, and she's hustled off to the country-house of her mother, a recent stroke victim whose speech has been reduced to utter gibberish. Claire's journey gets even more complicated when a dimwitted thug with a foul-mouthed hand puppet pops up at a window, and her driven husband and perpetually stoned son show up with a claustrophobic lady-cop that they've kidnapped. Every twist and turn in this funhouse plot bring Claire closer to revealing her past life and everything she thought she'd forgotten. It's one harrowing and hilarious turn after another on this roller coaster ride through the day of an amnesiac trying to decipher her fractured life. This poignant and brutal comedy traces one woman's attempt to regain her memory while surrounded by a curio-cabinet of alarmingly bizarre characters.

Fuddy Meers features the talents of: Claire Garcia, Annette Hockman, Ashley MacPhail, Luke Amundson, Mark Peterson, Chris Serface, and Charlie Stevens.

Tickets for the October 30, 2019 performance at 7:30pm are $10.00 for non TLT Members, and FREE for those who are members. Tickets may be purchased online at www.tacomalittletheatre.com, or by calling our Box Office at (253) 272-2281.

Tacoma Little Theatre's Off the Shelf program is excited to present John Patrick Shanley’s, Outside Mullingar, directed by Curt Hetherington and featuring some of the Pacific Northwest’s finest actors. This production will play Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 7:30pm.

Anthony and Rosemary are two introverted misfits straddling 40. Anthony has spent his entire life on a cattle farm in rural Ireland, a state of affairs that—due to his painful shyness—suits him well. Rosemary lives right next door, determined to have him, watching the years slip away. With Anthony’s father threatening to disinherit him and a land feud simmering between their families, Rosemary has every reason to fear romantic catastrophe. But then, in this very Irish story with a surprising depth of poetic passion, these yearning, eccentric souls fight their way towards solid ground and some kind of happiness. Their journey is heartbreaking, funny as hell, and ultimately deeply moving. Outside Mullingar is a compassionate, delightful work about how it’s never too late to take a chance on love.

Outside Mullingar features the talents of: Peter Cook (Tony), Jed Slaughter (Anthony), Brynne Garman (Aoife), and Alyson Soma (Rosmary).

Tickets for the September 19, 2019 performance at 7:30pm are $10.00 for non TLT Members, and FREE for those who are members. Tickets may be purchased online at www.tacomalittletheatre.com, or by calling our Box Office at (253) 272-2281.

TLT The Pillowman Festival Performance.jpg
TLTThePillowman15.jpg

Tacoma Little Theatre is honored to be representing the Puget Sound at the Washington State Community Theatre Association (WSCTA) Kaleidoscope festival with their performance of last season’s, The Pillowman, written by Martin McDonagh, and directed by Blake R. York.

Martin McDonagh echoes the works of Stoppard, Kafka, and the Brothers Grimm in this New York Drama Critics' Circle and Olivier Award winning script. The Pillowman is a viciously funny and seriously disturbing tale of Katurian, a fiction writer in an unnamed totalitarian state. Katurian and his brother Michael are brought in for questioning by two bulldog detectives, Tupolski and Ariel, when the content of his short stories - which involve disturbingly gruesome tales - begin to resemble real-life murders. The Pillowman weaves between reality and storytelling; and the result is an urgent work of theatrical bravura and an unflinching examination of the very nature and purpose of art.

Tacoma Little Theatre’s festival production of The Pillowman features: Jacob Tice (Katurian), Andrew Fry (Tupolski), Christian Carvajal (Ariel), and Sean Neely (Michal).

The Pillowman will present one special public performance prior to the festival, on Sunday, February 24th at 7:30pm.

Tickets are $10.00 per seat for these special performances and they will be held at Tacoma Little Theatre. Tickets may be purchased by clicking here, or by calling our Box Office at (253) 272-2281.
