One of Sondheim’s most famous scores comes back to the TLT for the first time since 1997!

Winner of four Tony Awards®, Stephen Sondheim’s glorious musical masterpiece returns to the TLT stage.  In 1900 Sweden, on a magical night that smiles three times, an aging actress, a married virgin, a sex-starved divinity student, and a buffoonish count find themselves hilariously tangled in a web of love affairs.  Delightful, charming and at times heartbreaking, with gorgeous, lush music, including “A Weekend in the Country,” “Liaisons” and the seminal “Send in the Clowns,” A Little Night Music is a coupling (and uncoupling) tour-de-force.

Recommended for Ages 12+

Featuring:

THURSDAY-SATURDAY AT 7:30PM
SUNDAY AT 3:00PM

Presented at The Social Bar and Grill

Tickets: $55.00 Click here to purchase

Tacoma Little Theatre pours a glass at The Social Bar and Grill to present a murder mystery dinner experience perfect for the wine lover in us all, Murder by Merlot, directed by Karen Christensen.

The Frudee Family has been in the wine-making business for years. Their winery, while not entirely successful, has managed to stay afloat despite the criticism of a local wine critic, Dr. William Beabore. But now the Frudee brothers, Doodie and Rudy, and their distant cousin, Judy, have made an amazing discovery, and they know they'll make a big splash with it in the wine world. Doodie's wife, Trudy, will do anything to help her husband, even if it leaves an unpleasant aftertaste, while Rudy's wife, Prudy, doesn't want to stain her reputation with a secret she'd rather keep to herself. Enjoy some wine-tasting and learn a little bit about wine, but be careful, someone will soon be two sheets under!

Dinner includes: Appetizer, Salad, Main Entrée (Meat, Chicken, Vegetarian/Gluten Free) & Dessert. Coffee, Tea, Water and Soda are included, and alcohol is available for purchase at the bar or from your server.

MURDER BY MERLOT will run February 21-24, 2019. Thursday-Saturday performances will begin at 7:30pm, and the Sunday performance will begin at 3:00pm. The event is held at The Social Bar and Grill, 1715 Dock Street, Tacoma, WA. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED.

TLT The Pillowman Festival Performance.jpg
TLTThePillowman15.jpg

Tacoma Little Theatre is honored to be representing the Puget Sound at the Washington State Community Theatre Association (WSCTA) Kaleidoscope festival with their performance of last season’s, The Pillowman, written by Martin McDonagh, and directed by Blake R. York.

Martin McDonagh echoes the works of Stoppard, Kafka, and the Brothers Grimm in this New York Drama Critics' Circle and Olivier Award winning script. The Pillowman is a viciously funny and seriously disturbing tale of Katurian, a fiction writer in an unnamed totalitarian state. Katurian and his brother Michael are brought in for questioning by two bulldog detectives, Tupolski and Ariel, when the content of his short stories - which involve disturbingly gruesome tales - begin to resemble real-life murders. The Pillowman weaves between reality and storytelling; and the result is an urgent work of theatrical bravura and an unflinching examination of the very nature and purpose of art.

Tacoma Little Theatre’s festival production of The Pillowman features: Jacob Tice (Katurian), Andrew Fry (Tupolski), Christian Carvajal (Ariel), and Sean Neely (Michal).

The Pillowman will present one special public performance prior to the festival, on Sunday, February 24th at 7:30pm.

Tickets are $10.00 per seat for these special performances and they will be held at Tacoma Little Theatre. Tickets may be purchased by clicking here, or by calling our Box Office at (253) 272-2281.

Fools Play is excited to be back at Tacoma Little Theatre for a third consecutive season! Tacoma’s monthly recurring Improv show. Tickets only $10. This Tacoma staple is a must-see.

The cast of Fools Play has two rules: Have Fun and Be Fearless.  They take those rules and perform two longform improvised stories full of characters, drama, and humor. For 20-40 minutes, during each story, inspired by each other and you, we get to inhabit the lives of characters in worlds familiar or strange for an epic journey or an intimate glimpse. Entirely improvised, we never know what will happen, but we do know we love discovering these stories.

No two stories are ever the same and infinite new stories are just waiting to be found.

Unlike our previous two seasons, this year we are changing almost all of our showtimes to 8:00PM!! Please check the details of the Event.

Each show will be approximately one and a half hour long including a mid-show intermission. Concessions, including alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase from Tacoma Little Theatre.  Show commencement may be delayed if a TLT or another group is using the space prior.

Material is unscripted and uncensored. Recommended for mature-minded audiences.
