This year Tacoma Little Theatre’s Young Performers Institute is proud to announce their upcoming summer blockbuster…
SUESSICAL JR!
This 3-week Young Performers camp is created specifically for ages 8-14 and is guaranteed to grow theatrical skills! Students will have an extraordinary time learning clever dances, silly songs, forming new friendships and ultimately performing this outlandishly funny show. This 3 –week process begins July 7th and finishes up with a matinee performance at Tacoma Little Theatre on Sunday, July 27th. Come join the fun!

No, there’s no telling what!
But I’ll give you a clue..."
So says the mischievous Cat in the Hat at the onset of this fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, Once On This Island, and Ragtime) have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie and all of the Whos of Whoville!
These classic, colorful tales are seamlessly brought together by Jojo, a young boy and “thinker of strange and wonderful thinks”! As each story unfolds you will marvel at how relevant and profound Seuss’s subtle themes are; making this musical one that appeals to all ages.
The score emerges as a Seussian gumbo of musical styles, ranging from Latin to pop, swing to gospel, and R&B to funk! So let your toes tap, your fingers snap, and your imagination run wild, for

Rehearsal Dates: July 7th – July 22nd
Location: Rehearsal space is located at The In Between Place. (608 N. State)
Rehearsal Time: 9:00-3:00 Monday – Fridays
Performance Dates: July 23rd – July 27th
Performances tour in parks and concludes the run on stage at the Historic Tacoma Little Theatre.

Tuition: $345.00 (this works out to be $3.83 an hour for your student to study with us! What a deal!)

On Sunday August 17th starting at 3:00 pm Tacoma Little Theatre will celebrate “Pot Luck style” with the families and students from our YPI SUMMER CAMPS AND CLASSES in Wrights Park! It’s going to be a blast! Bring your blankets and picnic baskets and get ready to celebrate our great accomplishments together!!
We encourage students to study year-round. This will help them grow in a variety of areas thus enhancing their skills and increasing their opportunities for future stage opportunities with Tacoma Little Theatre and many other theatres.
