THE TECHNICAL ANGLE
It is time to learn the backstage life of theatre. This is the side of theatre that makes the actors look fabulous! Without the technical arena of theatre, nothing could happen. Learn what it takes to design a set, make props… and much more. Sign up today and learn from the most experienced technical wizard, Destiny Saunders what it takes to make the show go on! In this class students will also help make props and paint necessary flats for YPI touring summer productions. This class will prepare students in a technical fashion along with revealing tricks to making scenery look great and igniting the creative side

IMAGINATION DRAMATICS
Students come alive with excitement and growing imaginations as the lid of creativity is tossed aside inspiring students through Music, Art, Storytelling, Games, and Props. Everyday students will listen to and act out stories based on classic tales such as The Frog Prince, The Lion and the Mouse, Raven Steals the Sun, Puss in Boots and more. Young Performers will develop physical, vocal and team building skills while sharing their ideas, feeling about the characters and stories they meet, create and narrate. All of this fun culminates in a Final Performance for Family and Friends on the final day of class. This outrageously fun opportunity is limited to a class size and it won’t last long!

MYTHS, LEGENDS AND FAIRYTALES
The much loved MYTHS LEGENDS AND FAIRTALES class is back!! This class will allow students to engage themselves in stories from all over the world. Within the first few days students will explore myths, legends, and fairytales and search to understand their heritage and meaning. The class will then select a story or create their own which will be rehearsed and transformed into a play to be performed on the last day of camp for friends and family. Students will also be educated on the basics of acting technique and theatre games that will help develop teamwork and creativity. This class is quite popular~ Register today before there is no more room!

SHAKE IT!!!
“To be or not to be...that is the Question”…..or is it? Do you love Shakespeare and yet not understand it? Do you long to learn how to duel like the Montague’s and Capulets, yet not quite sure who they are? This class will cover elements of The Bard and his language. We will explore a segment of his great works and learn how to speak the language, understand it and move like a Shakespearian Actor. This class will end in a Final Performance of Shakespeare Monologues and scenes at the In Between Space, Tacoma Little Theatre’s new spot for Theatrical Education.

FABLE FACTORY
Young actors will leap into famous fairy tales and fables such as The Three Little Pigs, Jack and the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood and more. Students will explore the fables freely all the while mixing and matching these admired stories and characters to create their own original factory of fables! Exploration includes movement, art, and music. All of this fun culminates in a Final Performance for Family and Friends on the final day of class. Just Act!
This “how to have a successful audition” class is packed full of helpful tools that envelop the many aspects of world of theatre. This class is for beginners and more experienced actors as well. Students will learn theatrical terminology as well as prepare monologues and scenes to help grow and enhance their acting techniques. On completion of this class students will have gained knowledge of the acting industry including standard expectations, how to present oneself in the best way at auditions and ultimately get cast in shows! Gain tips and techniques for landing the parts you long for! This class will conclude with a showcase of the students monologue and scene work in a performance held for family friends.

On Sunday August 17th starting at 3:00 pm Tacoma Little Theatre will celebrate with the families and students from our YPI SUMMER CAMPS AND CLASSES in Wrights Park! It’s going to be a blast! Bring your blankets and picnic baskets and get ready to celebrate our great accomplishments together!!
