Registration Policies
All registrations are processed in the order they are received. Registrations will be accepted until the class is full or until the end of the first week of class, whichever comes first.
Returned checks: A $25.00 service charge will be attached to any check returned by the bank due to insufficient funds.
Class confirmations: After your registration is processed, you will receive information confirming your spot in the class.
Cancellation Policy: If you cancel before class begins, we will refund tuition less a $25.00 processing fee per class. If you cancel within 24 hours after the first class meeting, we will refund half the tuition amount. After 24 hours after the first class meeting, no refund will be given.
YPI Foul Weather Policy: If the Tacoma school district closes due to wind, snow, floods, etc., then YPI classes will also be cancelled for that day. We will make every attempt to make up the missed class time, either by extending remaining class meetings or adding classes (as facility and instructor schedules allow).
We reserve the right to cancel a class if enrollment is insufficient. In this instance, any tuition paid will be refunded in full.
Scholarship Program
Financial assistance
Tacoma Little theatre YPI program offers financial assistance on two levels:
- Need-based scholarships are available to families who would not otherwise be able to participate in our classes. An application is required; our criteria is based on the guidelines established by the Tacoma Public Schools' free and reduced-price lunch program.
- A limited number of work-study (Jr. Assistant program) positions are available each semester, providing parents and teenage students the opportunity to work for the theatre – often on administrative projects or as ushers or classroom assistants – in exchange for partial tuition. An application is required; families with greater financial need will generally be given priority for work-study.
To receive a financial aid/Scholarship application form, please contact Educational Director – Casi Wilkerson 272-2281 ext. 13 or contact via e-mail. Note: Scholarship availability is based on our grant and sponsorship program and are limited.
