Anne ColemanMELANIE VAIL STEVENS

Melanie has been a voice teacher for fourteen years and has taught ages 7-70! She maintains a home vocal studio and teaches voice lessons in the Bethel School District. She feels strongly that music should be accessible to all and to be a source of creativity and expression. Melanie enjoys being a part of a student's discovery of music as well as being a part of their musical growth.

Melanie earned both her Bachelors Degree in Vocal Performance and Masters Degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from Central Washington University. Her classical training began with The Seattle Girls' Choir, where she earned a graduation certificate. Melanie has taught voice, beginning piano, music theory at the college level and concert choir at middle school, high school and college levels. In addition, she has taught middle school general music, vocal coached musicals and was most recently hired as musical director for TLT/Metropark's production of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL.

In addition to teaching, Melanie performs regularly with Swingin'  Soiree, The Swing Reunion Orchestra, small jazz combos and is a member of Choral Arts -Pure Sound, a professional Seattle based choir.

Melanie is part of a happy family of four and has lived in the Tacoma area for the past 13 years.
